Meet Our Team

Dede Pierce, Principal

It is an honor to serve as the principal of Maize Early Childhood Center. Prior to joining Maize, I served as an assistant principal, Title I Coordinator, Early Childhood and PAT Director for El Dorado Schools. I began my educational career with Wichita Public Schools, where I taught kindergarten, first and second grade reading, fifth grade, and vocal music. I later served as an MTSS Facilitator and Early Childhood Literacy Specialist.

I attended Goddard schools through my sophomore year before transferring to and graduating from Christian Challenge High School. My collegiate journey includes a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education, with minors in Vocal Music and Mass Communications, from Friends University. I earned my Master of Science degree in Educational Administration from Emporia State University.

My husband, Scot, and I have three wonderful children and four spectacular grandchildren. Being Mimi and Papa is truly one of our greatest blessings!

As the MECC Principal, my goal is to provide our students and their families with the very best beginning to their educational journey. I am grateful for the opportunity to serve our MECC community and to help create a place where every child feels welcomed, valued, supported, and excited to learn.
