Meet Our Team

Dede Pierce, Principal

It is an honor to serve as principal for Maize Early Childhood. This is my fourth year with the Maize school district and prior to coming to Maize I served as assistant principal, Title One Coordinator and Early Childhood Director for El Dorado Schools.

I started my educational career in the Wichita Public Schools as a kindergarten, vocal music, 1st and 2nd grade reading, and 5th grade teacher before serving as an MTSS Facilitator and Early Childhood Literacy Specialist.

I went to Goddard schools through my sophomore year and then transferred and graduated from Christian Challenge High School. My collegiate journey includes a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education along with minors in vocal music and mass communications from Friends University. I received my Masters of Science in Educational Administration from Emporia State University.

My husband, Scot, and I have three wonderful children and three spectacular grandchildren. Being Mimi and Papa is truly a blessing! As MECC Principal, it is my goal to give our students and their families the best beginning to their educational journey!

Welcome to the Maize Early Childhood Center. We are thrilled to be the first step in your child’s developmental and educational journey. We look forward to partnering with you from your child’s birth until kindergarten through a wide variety of early childhood programs. Join us as we EXPLORE the world of early childhood together!
