Our programs, designed for children from birth to age 5, are centered on fostering growth and success. From preschool classes to parent support, we are dedicated to partnering with families to support our youngest learners at every step. Enrollment is available to families within our district, beginning the journey at Maize USD 266.

At the Maize Early Childhood Center, we offer a range of programs including preschool classes, the nationally recognized Parents as Teachers (PAT) program, and more.

We focus on meeting each child’s unique needs, ensuring learning is engaging, accessible, and secure. Guided by the Kansas Early Learning Standards, our licensed educators and specialists work to develop foundational skills through joyful, play-based experiences.

Early Childhood Special Education

Maize Early Childhood Special Education is designed for children 3-to 5-years-of-age who qualify for services in areas such as communicating, learning, hearing, seeing, moving, or socializing.

If you live in the Renwick or Maize school district and have concerns with your child in areas of cognition, motor, social behaviors, adaptive/self-help, or speech skills, the first step is to have your child attend a Bright Start screening. For more information, please call (316)722-3105 or email to arrange a screening.

Early Childhood Screening

If you live in the Renwick or Maize school districts, the Kansas Department of Education invites you to attend a free screening through the Maize COOP. The purpose of the screening is to assess children, aged from birth through five, in the areas of walking, talking, seeing, hearing, and learning.

For a free appointment, call (316) 722-3105 (Monday-Friday 7:30am-4:15pm) or email brightstart@usd266.com. During June or July, please call (316) 350-2088.
